While the trip involved lots of long days, we did take one afternoon to visit Matopos National Park and on our way past Hwange National Park, we drove in as far as you could go without paying Smile.  Here are a few of the photos from these trips…

Matopos National Park is home to thousands of rocky hills with boulders balanced upon boulders.

It also has some wildlife but we weren’t there at the best time of year and the grass was very tall.  We came across a herd of zebra and a few antelopes.

As in much of southern Africa, they take poaching seriously.  Especially in this park as there are rhinos.  Notice “Shot on Sight”.

We spent one night on Lake Kariba and enjoyed a beautiful sunset.

And on our quick drive through Hwange National Park, we spotted a herd of sable.

Love the zebra photo…so jealous! I may confiscate it and add to the photos from our trip, after all, we did SEE them, just couldn’t get a decent picture! : )
